Back That Rack Up

Back That Rack Up began with a simple idea. After visiting Madison, Indiana, in 2016 and experiencing the Backyard BBQ Blast, Adam and John left inspired to step behind the smoker and enter the competition themselves the following year. In 2017, they fired up the pits for the first time, and what started as a one-time challenge quickly became an annual tradition.

 

Over the years, Jacob and Erik joined the team, bringing new ideas, new techniques, and plenty of laughs along the way. We've learned that cooking award-winning competition barbecue is very different from cooking for family and friends. Every contest has taught us something new, from finding the balance between creativity and consistency to understanding what judges are really looking for. The trophies are great, but the memories, friendships, and lessons learned are what keep us coming back year after year.
